1) What is the benefit of the voting?
The voting program has four main benefits:
1) It
allows webmasters the opportunity to promote their site in front of our visitors for free and instantly on our popular rankings pages.
2) Participation in the voting entitles you to display our recognizable and respected "Ranked At" logo on your site. This gives your site instant respectability among your new visitors.
3) It allows our visitors the ability to discover new sites that they might not otherwise come across.
4) Participation in the rankings enables
our editors to discover new sites that they can consider adding to our main directory.

2) How does the voting work?
Webmasters can sign up their site immediately by registering for free and adding a "Vote for Us" type graphic on their homepage. Those of their visitors that click on the
"Vote for Us" graphic will cause a vote to be registered on our servers.
There are rules that webmasters must agree to in order to make the voting fair and the results useful. There are also measures in place to insure the rules are followed, such as only allowing one vote per person, per site, per day.
Our servers update the rankings page every hour, displaying each sites rank, title, logo and number of votes. Each week the vote statistics are reset to be fair to
sites that have recently joined.

3) How can I vote for my favorite site?
Visit the site you want to vote for and look for a "Vote for Us" type graphic. If you do not find one, contact the web site and ask them if they have one somewhere as you would like to vote for them.

5) Is the voting related to your directory?
The rankings of sites in our voting program have nothing to do with the rankings of sites in our main directory.
Site rankings in our voting program are determined by the number of votes that participating sites’ visitors send. Rankings of sites in our main directory are
determined by editors based on various criteria.
Your site does not need to be listed in our directory to participate in our voting. Our editors do use the rankings however to help them discover new sites to add to our directory.

6) How often are the vote statistics reset?
We reset the vote
stats once a week. This is to give newly added sites a fair chance to rise to the top. Total vote counts, viewable on our rankings page, are updated every hour.

7) Are there any rules for the voting?
To make the voting fair and the results useful we have established rules that all participants in
the voting must agree to and follow. The rules can be viewed here.

8) How do you prevent cheating?
While we do not know of any Internet
voting system that can detect and prevent 100% of those intent on cheating, we have established several measures to minimize it. Furthermore, the more security measures that are put in place, the less convenient it is for users to vote. We do our best to balance the trade off between security and convenience with our current system. We use a combination of technologies to enforce our rules, including restricting people from voting more than once a day for any one site.
Those intent on
trying to cheat will find it both inconvenient and time consuming. Furthermore, it is easily and automatically spotted, reported & corrected by us and the person and/or site found responsible may be blocked from future voting or have their site deleted from the voting without notice.

9) I think a site is cheating. What do I do?
You are welcome to notify us of your suspicion and we will look into it. Please provide as much detail as possible. If we determine that someone has sent in multiple votes for any one site within a 24 hour time period, those votes will be deleted.
If we have reason to believe the site is responsible for or has encouraged the cheating, their stats will either be reset or their site will be removed from the voting without notice.

10) Why didn’t my vote count?
Our voting system allows one vote, per day, per computer. There are only two reasons why your vote would not be counted.
1) You or someone else who has access to the computer you are voting from, has already voted in the last 24 hours from that computer.
2) You or
someone else who has access to the IP address you are voting from, has already voted in the last 24 hours from that IP address.

11) How does my site become a "Featured Site"?
Every hour, when the ranking page updates itself, a site is randomly selected to appear at the top of the page
as the "Featured Site".

12) How long do the "New" icons stay?
The "New" icons appear next to newly added sites for 24 hours.

13) Why was my site deleted?
Sites can be deleted without warning for a variety of reasons as outlined in the rules you agreed to when you signed up. Some of the more common reasons include:
- Failure to add graphic or link on your homepage.
- Inappropriate or forbidden content.
- Inactivity of your account for more than 7 days.
- Attempts to "cheat" voting system using your ID.
- Sending of spam in effort to increase votes.
- Unauthorized modification of banner or link code.
If your site was deleted, you may try to sign up again. In most cases we will welcome you back one time so long as you promise to follow our rules. In some extreme cases, your domain name may have been banned.

14) Can I change my account details?
Yes, you can log into your account to update most all parts of your account including your banner, site title, description, category, URL, or email address. Just make sure your banner meets our specifications ( 88x31 original & 2k or less ), your site title matches what is on your site, and your description and category are accurate.

15) Why does my site not appear?
Assuming it was not deleted for a violation of one of our rules, there are only three reasons why a recently added site has not yet appeared on one of our rankings pages.
1) You have not yet added one of our "Vote for Us" graphics or links to your site.
2) If you did add one, none of your visitors have cast a vote for your site by clicking on it.
3) If you or someone has cast a vote, it has not appeared on one of the rankings pages because the database hasn’t completed its hourly refresh since your vote(s) were recorded.
If you know that an hour has passed since a vote has been sent, and you still do not see your site, contact us and we will look into it for you.

16) What if I forgot my password or username?
You can automatically retrieve your username and password by entering your email address in this form. If you enter the email address that you used when you
originally signed up, your user name and password will be emailed to your address.

17) Why can't I find my site in your directory?
Participating in our voting program does not guarantee your site will be added to our main directory. While our editors do check the rankings pages for top sites that
they can consider adding, we do not guarantee any site will be added within any time frame.
As mentioned above, the chance to get listed in our main directory is only one of the benefits of participating in the voting. The biggest benefit is the publicity your site will get on the rankings pages as it is one of the most popular pages on our site.
